Dating With Intention: Seeking Love and Giving it Back to the Community
What if your next date night could help feed a family in need?
On November 20th, Fruit Bowl Friends is hosting the Sober Singles Social in Indianapolis, partnering with local creators and businesses for an evening designed for people who want to meet others without the pressure to drink.
The event brings together my company Fruit Bowl Friends, along with Thursday Dating Indianapolis, Salt and Ash Market, Indy Flower Bouquet and DJ Elio Jordan for an evening of intentional connection, live music, local vendors and beautifully crafted mocktails.
We’re proud to be sponsored by Social AF Bevvies Boutique, who are providing Mingle Mocktails and making a generous donation to Second Helpings, a local organization that turns rescued food into meals for Hoosiers in need.
Guests are invited to bring items for a food drive supporting Second Helpings, helping us turn a night of connection into something that supports the broader community.
What You Can Expect at the Sober Singles Social
A welcoming, alcohol-free space designed for ease and clarity
A creative atmosphere at Salt and Ash Market, owned by Ashton Boehman
A curated soundtrack by DJ Elio Jordan
A build-your-own bouquet bar from Indy Flower Bouquet
Local vendors, mocktails, and plenty of opportunities for real conversation
This night is intentionally softer, slower and more human than the usual singles event. It’s built for people who want to connect without numbing themselves to get through it.
The Sober Singles Social grew out of a basic truth I kept seeing: people want to connect, but they don’t want to drink to get there. This night is built for them. It’s for anyone who’s tired of forcing conversation over cocktails, anyone who wants to meet people without feeling like sobriety puts them on the outside of the room.
Sobriety isn’t just about abstaining from alcohol. For many, it’s about clarity, boundaries and rediscovering connection.
But the truth is, the dating world hasn’t always made room for that. The assumption that “fun” or “flirty” has to include a drink still runs deep.
I’ve seen how difficult it can be for people to build relationships when they’re fighting to stay afloat. And I’ve also seen how healing it is when they’re given permission to just show up authentically, without pressure, without substances and without fear.
As someone who’s built community through both advocacy and creativity, I believe that love and service aren’t separate concepts. They are both acts of care.
Whether I’m organizing an art show for neurodivergent students, a wellness night for families or a sober social for adults, my approach is always the same: make it meaningful, make it inclusive and make it human.
The Sober Singles Social is another chapter in that story. Behind every person contributing to this event is a shared belief that connection and care can coexist.
And while yes, it’s a singles event, it’s also a statement about the kind of culture we want to build in Indianapolis. One where sober doesn’t mean boring. One where dating feels transformational, not extractive.
When people come to the Sober Singles Social, I hope they leave with more than just new numbers in their phone. I hope they leave inspired to keep showing up for themselves and their community.
So come ready to mingle, to dance, to drop off a donation and to see what it looks like when compassion takes center stage.
Together, we’re building a culture of connection that doesn’t need booze to blow minds.
See you there!
