Hyvemind is an independent publication about what it means to live well in the world we share.
Human beings need more than the means to survive. We need clean air and water, nourishing food, shelter and rest. We need relationships, belonging, beauty, meaningful work and places to gather. We depend on one another and on the living systems around us. Yet, the systems we live and work under today can make those relationships difficult to see.
These systems shape our days, where we live, how we work, what we eat, the technologies we use and the environments we inhabit, and are often treated as inevitable. They aren’t. They are the result of choices about what we value, who holds power and how the resources of our shared world are distributed.
Hyvemind investigates those choices and the conditions they create.

Mission
We seek to help transform perspectives not only on the challenges we face today, but what is possible for the working class. Our mission is to build a culture rooted in human dignity, ecological stewardship and care for the people and places that sustain us.
Our Vision
Our vision is for a collective future focused on three pillars: systems, ecology and culture — the systems to support human-centered institutions and policies, the ecological understanding to work in harmony with the natural world and the culture to restore the social fabric through a collective sense of safety, growth and purpose.
We are working to give people greater knowledge of the forces impacting their lives, greater connection to the living world and greater capacity to participate in shaping their communities.
We investigate how power, policy, culture and economic systems shape the material, social and ecological conditions of everyday life. We document the people and ideas creating alternatives, reconnect human wellbeing with the living world upon which it depends and produce knowledge that helps communities participate more fully in shaping their collective futures.
