Collective knowledge for collective power.

Hyvemind is an independent publication and civic storytelling initiative dedicated to strengthening public life.

Through journalism, cultural coverage and community partnerships, we spotlight the people, ideas and creative work helping build a more informed, connected and equitable society.

Every story, whether it’s an investigative piece on concentrated power or a profile of an independent artist serves a shared goal of strengthening the shared civic life that makes people and communities more capable of shaping their future together.

Within our work, we document

01

How people understand the world

02

How power shapes that world

03

How communities respond

04

The people imagining better possibilities

What We Do

We gather and share the collective wisdom people need to build a more connected, creative and livable future.

We believe valuable knowledge exists far beyond traditional institutions.

It lives in neighborhoods, community groups, artists’ studios, local businesses, grassroots organizations, mutual aid networks and the everyday experiences of ordinary people.

Our work is dedicated to finding those ideas, stories and solutions, and making them fully accessible to others.

What We Ask

The questions that shape collective life.

We are interested in the questions that shape collective life: Who holds power? Who is left out of the story? What do communities need to thrive? What models are already working? And how do we build a society that values human dignity, ecological resilience, public knowledge and collective care?

We publish original reporting and contributions from our community of artists, educators, civic workers, environmental advocates and engaged citizens.
